Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and Stanford Hospital & Clinics lift flu season visitation policy
Effective Saturday, March 6, 2010, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and Stanford Hospital & Clinics will again allow siblings or friends under the age of 16 years to visit in the hospitals.
Due to the severity of the H1N1 flu and its disproportionate impact on children, the hospitals acted to restrict this population of visitors earlier this flu season to limit the spread of the virus to patients.
Per routine visitation guidelines, Security and Information Desk Staff at Packard will continue to screen all adults and children at entry, regardless of age. Visitors will not be permitted to visit inpatients if the visitor has fever and upper-respiratory symptoms, a rash or exposure to chicken pox, measles, mumps or TB.
Visitors at Packard will be provided a badge to show that they have been approved for entry. Visitors to the Emergency Department at SHC are routinely provided a badge.
